About this event

Becoming a member of the Capitol Circle means taking pride in supporting your local arts community and commitment to the well-being of the Capitol Theatre. The legends behind the restoration and renovation of the Capitol Theatre shares the history and relevancy of this unique cultural gem in our community. Rod & Masumi will share details about our heritage designation, what makes the Capitol a unique historical property, and how he gathered a group of volunteers to turn it into the dynamic facility that sits at the centre of arts and culture in Northumberland County. The Capitol Theatre welcomes individuals with disabilities to attend performances and other events at our facility. We are committed to providing accessible services in a manner that maintains the dignity and independence of all while providing equality of access and integration. The Capitol Theatre wishes to acknowledge the original caretakers of this land: the Wendake-Nionwentsio, the Mississauga, the Anishinabewaki, and many other nations–recorded and unrecorded. This theatre has a long history, but there is a much longer history in this region and we can all do a better job of recognizing that history. Open one hour prior to all live performances. Closed on statutory holidays.
