About this event
Becoming a member of the Capitol Circle means taking pride in supporting your local arts community and commitment to the well-being of the Capitol Theatre. The classic thriller comes with even more twists in this Canadian adaptation. Bella Manningham thinks she’s losing her mind. In the evenings, she hears strange sounds and the gas lights dim for no apparent reason. But is she losing her grip on reality, or is it being loosened for her? This Canadian adaptation of Patrick Hamilton’s iconic 1938 play reimagines the classic thriller from a modern perspective, with a “what if” that takes Bella’s life in a new and dangerous direction. The question is, will she be able to find the strength – and cunning – to save herself? “[It’s] a total overhaul, complete with a nifty Act 1 curtain that forces audiences to spill into the lobby, sputtering, ‘What should she do now?’” – The New York Times Shop, Dine & Show: explore downtown Port Hope, enjoy a meal, and see a show... and save 20%! Choose "Shop, Dine & Show" as your ticket type when you check out. The Capitol Theatre welcomes individuals with disabilities to attend performances and other events at our facility.
