About this event

Becoming a member of the Capitol Circle means taking pride in supporting your local arts community and commitment to the well-being of the Capitol Theatre. For our first ever full production in the Sculthorpe Theatre, playwright Dave Carley sits down with Artistic Director Rob Kempson to talk about how he adapted Farley Mowat’s beloved memoir for the stage. Audiences will hear about the ins and outs of a writing process, the influence of the Capitol Theatre’s Creators’ Unit, and what makes something “adaptable” for the stage. The Capitol Theatre welcomes individuals with disabilities to attend performances and other events at our facility. We are committed to providing accessible services in a manner that maintains the dignity and independence of all while providing equality of access and integration. The Capitol Theatre wishes to acknowledge the original caretakers of this land: the Wendake-Nionwentsio, the Mississauga, the Anishinabewaki, and many other nations–recorded and unrecorded. This theatre has a long history, but there is a much longer history in this region and we can all do a better job of recognizing that history. Open one hour prior to all live performances. Closed on statutory holidays.
