The Canadian Women in Film Museum is hosting an ongoing “Women With Cinema Cameras” film series from April to July 2026, celebrating pioneering female filmmakers. The series begins with programs highlighting the groundbreaking work of Alice Guy-Blaché on April 16 and April 25 (Program #1) and again on April 30 and May 2 (Program #2). Beginning May 7, the focus shifts to early Hollywood director and screenwriter Lois Weber, with four different programs running on select Thursdays and Saturdays through July 4. Each screening takes place from 1:00–3:00 pm, offering audiences a chance to explore the legacy of these influential women who helped shape the early film industry. 🎬
